Annual ‘State of the Air’ Report Released

According to the US’ annual “State of the Air” report this week, the 2017 version found continued improvements in air quality. However, the report says that 125 million Americans still “live in counties with unhealthful levels of either ozone or particle pollution.” For the study, the American Lung Association, which conducts the annual report, evaluated cities for three types of air pollution: ozone, year-round particle pollution, and short-term particle pollution. According to the Association, particle pollution refers to the small liquid and solid particles that come from burning fossil fuel and other sources.
