Arizona Law Banning ‘Radical’ Mexican-American Studies Class Under Legal Spotlight

An Arizona law that ended a popular Mexican-American studies classes in Tucson was back in court this week.
According to the AP, at issue is whether the law was enacted with discriminatory intent.
The trial will include testimony from the man behind the effort to end the program.
Former Arizona schools chief Tom Horne defended the law, saying it helped keep “radical” curriculum out of classrooms.
He also passed the state’s landmark immigration law, and will testify on Tuesday.
