FCC Chairman Pitched Net Neutrality Reform

CNET reports that FCC Chairman Ajit Pai met with the executives at Facebook, Cisco, Oracle, Intel earlier this week, as he considers rolling back the FCC’s controversial net neutrality rules. Pai told reporters at a news conference that he traveled to Silicon Valley on Monday to talk to companies that participate in the “internet economy.” He wanted to get some ideas of how the FCC could change the more restrictive aspects of the rules, while still preserving regulations and rules that ensures the internet remains open. Pai emphasized that he has always supported a “free and open internet” while opposing the more restrictive parts of the controversial Obama-era regulation.
