It’s been 4 days since fire ignited thousands of acres of land displacing residents in Northern California. Fire Fighters in the region continue to battle the wildfires that have claimed the lives of 24 people and left hundreds unaccounted for in the midst of mass evacuations that started Sunday evening. On Thursday wind gust continued to threaten the area, pushing flames deeper into the Napa Valley town Calistoga, whose 5,000-plus residents were ordered from their homes on Wednesday night. The Mayor of Calistoga Chris Canning sent out a warning that anyone refusing to adhere to the mandatory evacuation was “not welcome” in the town and posed a distraction to firefighters.
