Just after news that the FBI is — once again — not planning on charging Hillary Clinton over anything email-related, LeBron James took the stage to introduce her at a rally in Cleveland, Ohio. He even brought out fellow NBA star J.R. Smith and his young daughter, Demi Smith.
He got straight to work on the get-out-the-vote efforts without making any mention of the latest FBI headlines.
“I want people to understand: I grew up in the inner city and I know the whole notion of getting out and voting. I was one of those kids and I was around a community that was like, ‘Our vote doesn’t matter.’ But it really does. It really, really does,” he said.
He promised that Clinton will provide “the brightest future for our world” and spoke about his own foundation, which is designed to support young kids, and give them “the notion that someone cares about them.” He wrapped it all up by sharing is belief that Clinton supports those same goals.
