Lego began a $200 million journey two years ago, aiming to manufacture more eco-friendly toys. Three years prior to that the company had also kicked off another green initiative, making a commitment to supporting renewable energy. Lego pledged to offset its worldwide energy consumption by 100% and the company aimed to do so by 2020; however, this week Lego announced big news: it has already surpassed its goal three years ahead of schedule. To meet this goal, Lego participated in a number of projects including WWF’s Climate Savers and RE100.
